Weekly Parent Update

June 14, 2026

Hello Bobcats!

Happy Sunday! We hope you've had a wonderful weekend and have enjoyed the beautiful weather! It's crazy to think we only have 2 days left of school!

Please see below for what is coming up the next couple of days:

Medication

It's that time of year again... Please pick up any medication you may have brought in for your student during the school year. The last day of school is June 16th so any medication left here will be disposed of as they cannot be kept at the school over summer break. Please note that students are not permitted to take medications home with them.

Library Books

Calling all overdue library books. We are nearing the end of the year and we have a significant amount of books that are overdue or missing. Please take a moment to ask your child or your child's teacher if they have any missing books.

Ice, Ice, BOBCATS!

We are excited to kick off summer break with a cool treat! To celebrate the end of a wonderful school year, the Kona Ice van will be visiting our school on Tuesday, June 16th, starting around 3:45 PM. Please see the attached flyer for more details. Thank you!

The van will be parked on school grounds, making it the perfect stop right after dismissal.

Please note that parents/guardians will be responsible for purchasing their own children's snow cones. Kona Ice offers a variety of sizes and flavors, and they accept both cash and card/digital payments.

Come join us to beat the heat, catch up with other families, and wish everyone a fantastic summer vacation!
Students do not know about this yet, so let's keep it a fun secret!!! We hope to see you there!

Parent Corner-Read, Read, Read

Summer is a wonderful time to go on vacation, get some rest, and enjoy incredible family time together. When my own children were younger, some of my favorite, most cherished memories were our family read-alouds. We would pick a book to read together, and the kids would take turns reading pages out loud. Finding ways to integrate the joy and wonder of reading into your summer is one of the best ways to nurture your child's love of learning.

Did you know that many students who are just starting to master literacy at the end of the school year can lose those skills if they don't practice over the summer? All that hard work making connections and making sense of print can fade without continued practice over the next few months.

I want to encourage you all to keep your student’s hard work going this summer by reading together. It doesn't have to be a chore! It can be as simple as reading street and stop signs, exploring a museum or park and reading the informational plaques together, or simply snuggling up before bed with a good book.
Have a wonderful summer and happy reading!
