Hello Bobcat Families!
Happy Sunday! This year just continues to fly by. We have one week until winter break which usually means students begin to get antsy in anticipation. Please help remind your child to stay focused this next week as we continue our learning at school.

Here is a look at what is happening this week and month!

School Medication
State law addresses the dispensing of any form of medication by school personnel. Medication means any prescription or over-the-counter medication including but not limited to vitamins, food supplements, eye, ear and nose drops, inhalants, medicated ointments or lotions, aspirin, cough drops and antacids. For school personnel to administer any medication, the parent must provide a written request and the student’s physician must give written instructions if prescription (the prescription container on prescribed medication is sufficient).

All medications must be in the original container, with parent’s special instructions and physician’s instructions. All medications must be given to office staff by an adult for safekeeping. It is unlawful for students to transport medications of any kind. This includes medication such as cough drops, eye drops, nasal sprays, etc.

Technology and Elementary Age Students:
The impact of technology on elementary students is both transformative and multifaceted. Technology offers a wealth of learning opportunities, enabling students to access interactive educational resources, develop critical thinking skills, and engage with personalized learning experiences tailored to their needs. However, excessive screen time and improper use can lead to distractions and potential social-emotional challenges, highlighting the need for balance and guidance. Setting up limits, allowing age appropriate apps and engaging in conversations around social media is crucial while their brain is still developing. Social media can be confusing for this age as there is a lot of research around the impact on who they think they should be (identity). Talking to your children about safe and responsible use of technology is crucial this day and age and as guardians, knowing how to limit use, turn off apps as needed is also important. Time away from technology allows for more family time, crucial conversations and time to develop hobbies.

Lost and Found
Lost and Found
We have lots of coats and jackets in our lost and found! Please come check for your students lost items next time you are at the school.

Jackets not claimed by 12/20 (Winter Break) will be donated!

Clothing Donations needed!
Our office supply of extra clothing has been severely depleted. Please kindly return any clothes that your student might have brought home from the school.

We are currently in need of underwear for both girls and boys and small pants for 5-8 year olds. If you have any gently used underwear and/or pants please bring them by!
