Hello Bobcat Families!
I hope you all had an amazing few weeks off and enjoyed the holidays! It is now officially 2025 and I am excited to see what's in store for the remainder of the school year. Monday we will focus on reminding our students of the expectations in the classroom, hallway, bathroom and at recess. Please help us in having a conversation prior to coming back about being kind, showing respect and the importance of showing up and doing their personal best each day. We miss our Bobcats and can't wait to see them!

Here is a look at what is happening this week and month!

Rainy/Cold Weather
The temperatures have been dropping! Please help us keep our students warm and dry by making sure to send them with a warm jacket, preferably one that is waterproof and with a hood. We also highly recommend that you put their first and last name on it so if it is lost, it can easily be reunited with them. If you need assistance with this please let us know, we have some extra jackets that have been donated to us.

January Virtue
The virtue for January is responsible. Our staff will be on the lookout for students being responsible in the classroom, at recess and in the cafeteria.

Excellent Attendance
Being in school every day means your child won’t miss out on learning. Try to schedule appointments and family trips outside of school hours. If your student asks to stay home “just because,” remind them of what they will be missing, such as reading groups or music. Explain that they can be absent only when sick or if there’s a family emergency. There is so much research behind being consistently at school and the positive impact it has on children. We love them very much and look forward to seeing our Bobcats each day. Although this is the case, with it being the "sick" season, if your child is not feeling well and is showing signs of sickness, please keep them home and call the office to excuse their absence. If you have any questions regarding this, feel free to give us a call, we are happy to help.

Oregon Trail School District’s attendance policy can be found on the district’s website under Student Safety and Family Rights. This outlines what makes an absence excused or unexcused.
