Hello Bobcats!
I hope you are having a good and restful weekend. Just a reminder we have no school tomorrow, February 17th due to Presidents' Day. Please see an important note below regarding parent pick up and changes near the end of the day.

End of day/Parent pick up changes:
I want to start out by saying that we understand that pick up times may change due to a variety of different reasons. We are currently experiencing the following challenges:
  • Parents picking up 5-10 minutes prior to end of day when students are packing up and might even be in the hall in transition or already waiting in the bus line.
  • Parents calling and giving us a time to have their child in the office by a specific time and due to traffic or other unforeseen circumstances showing up 10-30 minutes later.
Therefore, we are asking that if you need your child to be picked up early, you call us at least 30 minutes to an hour prior AND call us again when you are 5 minutes away. This way students are not missing out on learning time waiting in the office.

We do our best to have students ready when you come, but when asked last minute it makes it challenging as 3rd-5th have a long walk and depending on what they are working on in class, it could take a chunk of time to clean up prior to getting up to the office. We greatly appreciate your help with this and working as a team to help with mid or end of day changes.

Student Reading Growth!
We met with each grade level team to look at our Acadience and iReady Data. I am so proud of our students and the growth they have made so far this school year!

Medication Reminder
State law addresses the dispensing of any form of medication by school personnel. Medication means any prescription or over-the-counter medication including but not limited to vitamins, food supplements, eye, ear and nose drops, inhalants, medicated ointments or lotions, aspirin, cough drops and antacids. For school personnel to administer any medication, the parent must provide a written request and the student’s physician must give written instructions if prescription (the prescription container on prescribed medication is sufficient).

All medications must be in the original container, with parent’s special instructions and physician’s instructions. All medications must be given to office staff by an adult for safekeeping. It is unlawful for students to transport medications of any kind. This includes medication such as cough drops, eye drops, nasal sprays, etc.

February Virtue
February's virtue is Kind. Our staff will be on the lookout for students being Kind in February! We have talked about being kind to one another in class, during recess, lunch and when others least expect it!
