I hope you had a great week and a restful weekend. It was nice to see the students and get back into a routine. I am so proud of the hard work students are putting in and their growth!

Here is the latest news and information for the week ahead:

This month’s virtue is Responsible. Staff members are on the lookout for students who are being responsible with their Chromebooks as well as being responsible to other students, classmates and staff members. We will announce our virtue winners before Winter Break!

Over the next few weeks I will be spoiling our staff with goodies in the staff lounge to let them know how appreciated they are. If you or your child would like to work together to write a note to their teacher/custodians/lunch ladies/Educational Assistants/Secretaries, etc. feel free to drop them off in the office at any time!

Oregon’s statewide assessments in English Language Arts and Mathematics will take place in the spring at Sandy Grade School.

The assessments provide our students in grades 3-5, and their families, one measure of academic achievement and growth. They also help our school and district evaluate our system of teaching and learning.

Oregon permits parents/guardians to annually opt out of statewide summative tests in ELA and/or Math by submitting a form, and they may also request exemptions from other assessments (OSAS Online Science, ELPA Screener, ELPA Summative, ORExt Science Assessment).
