Weekly Parent Update

February 22, 2026

Hello Bobcat Families!

As we turn the corner into March, I am thrilled to share some incredible news regarding our mid-year progress. As I mentioned before, we recently completed our Middle of Year assessments, and the growth we are seeing is a testament to the hard work of our students and the support you provide at home.

A Reason to Celebrate: Our primary grades have shown record-breaking jumps in reading readiness, and our upper-grade students are tackling complex "reading for meaning" tasks with more confidence than ever before. We are officially in the "Spring Sprint"—that vital time of year where all the foundational skills we’ve built since September really start to click.

Transparency in Learning: To keep you informed of this progress, our teachers have been working diligently to ensure our online gradebooks are fully updated and aligned across grade levels. When you log in, you aren't just seeing scores; you are seeing a real-time map of your child’s journey toward their goals. Please let us know if you need support on ParentVue and how to use gradebook.

Take a look at what's coming up:

*Important Reminder*

Over the last week or so our school has had a prevalence of toys being brought to school to either play with or to trade. We have given students several reminders that any 3D critters earned in a day from classroom teachers must be taken home and not brought back to school unless a teacher has a space in their classroom for them.

If you could please help remind your children to not bring anything to school other than school supplies that would be amazing! We have told the students that if we see critters, Pokémon cards, 3D printed toys, mini plushies or anything that is not a school supply it will be taken away and held in the office for the rest of the day. Thank you!

February Virtue

This month's virtue is Perseverance!

Persevering at school means maintaining your effort and focus even when you face difficulties, setbacks, or a lack of motivation. It is the ability to push through the "hard parts" of learning to achieve your long-term educational goals.

It isn't just about working hard when things are going well; it is defined by how you react when things go wrong.

Orchid Health

In advance of exclusion day (Feb. 25), Orchid Health will hold another vaccination clinic tomorrow, 2/23 at the Sandy High School clinic. The clinics are by appointment only and appointments can be made by calling 971-220-2701.

📊 Why Math Talk Matters

Research shows that students who talk about math at home develop higher Math Confidence. When parents show curiosity about math (rather than frustration), students are more likely to persevere through difficult problems in class.
